SRI LANKAN PRIME MINISTER VISITS TAKE HEART MERCY MISSION 20th October, 2015

Gillingham Football Club’s official charity ‘Take Heart Mercy Mission’ has enjoyed a hugely successful start to this year's mission, with the team of surgeons, doctors and nurses performing life-saving heart surgery on young children with serious heart defects, children who would be unlikely to survive without the surgery they receive.

Take Heart visits the country with a group of volunteer medics led by the prominent children’s heart surgeon, Conal Austin, and leading cardiologist John Simpson, helping make a big difference to little hearts.

Besides the medics, Gillingham FC also sends community coaches out to facilitate football sessions for local children who have been loving every moment.

The 2015 Mercy Mission has proven to have a huge impact already, so much so Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe popped by to have a look first hand.
